"At the grandparents' house on Walnut Street,
Each fluffball has a task that's neat.
Mama Sheba guides with care,
Teaches lessons everywhere,
So from an early age they learn
The good life skills for which they yearn.
Just look, Bia, can you see?"
"I do! Little Simina, bright as can be,
Wants to learn from Sheba, you see,
To walk as straight as on a thread.
But elegant walking, it's often said,
Isn't learned in just one day,
For I see the little one lose her way,
She trips on the rug, poor little dear,
And instead of thread-straight, far or near,
Her kitten walk I'd rather call
'A paw-on-paw, about to fall'.
But Simina doesn't quit or pout,
She tries again, without a doubt,
The elegance lesson's no great pain.
She knows her mother, Sheba, reigns
A queenly feline, poised and grand,
And if Simina takes a stand,
Head held high, eyes straight ahead,
Her paws will learn to walk that thread."
"But walking's not enough, you know,
An elegant cat must always show
A coat that's clean and neatly dressed."
"Of that I've nothing to protest,
For Simina grooms her snowy fur
With tongue and paw, a steady purr.
No whiter kitten can there be
In all the world, for you to see!"
